The Gower Peninsula can be found towards the Southwest of Wales, and in 1956 the majority became the very first area in the UK to be assigned an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ classification. The Gower Peninsula is very close to Swansea, and has become synonymous with greenery, beautiful coastlines and staycations. As such, properties along the Gower can be fairly pricey for Wales. However, you do get a lot for your money. 

Gower is only around 70 square miles in area, but the properties for sale are extremely varied, and although they might be expensive for Wales, compared to other enviable property locations like Sandbanks in Poole and London, they are a steal.

There’s no shortage of seven to ten bedroom properties along the Gower, all with their own land, so the potential for a holiday home / B&B is huge. All are set in stunning scenery – some in Port Enyon Bay have gorgeous views of the Bristol Channel, so your property would be a stone’s throw from the vibrant city of Bristol. Rural, scenic surroundings, and all the culture and nightlife you could want just across the Channel!

If holiday homes is a business in which you are looking to invest, you can find ready made thirteen bed homes in Port Enyon, just ready for new management. Some even have outdoor pools, making the properties fantastic value at around £800k.

However, if you’re looking to move to a smaller property, Gower can provide in spectacular fashion! Flats can be purchased inside Victorian Grade II listed mansions – for example, Langland Bay Manor, in Langland, Swansea. Here, a 2 bed flat situated inside a veritable castle will only set you back £329k – a bargain!

Gower is also full of charming small cottages and bungalows – so if the castle life isn’t quite for you, the area can provide! 2 bedroom maisonettes and 1 bedroom flats close the beach around Swansea will only cost around £230k.
